Week 1: Self-Portrait Without You In It

The 52-week project started off tough. Already I had to figure out what defined me, but part of the reason I joined the project was to figure out who I am and how that translates into photography.

Basically how I went about this theme was to think of all of my hobbies, my style, and where I am in life and how best to portray that. Here's the final result:

Why these objects? Well, I love to travel. I want to see the world. The hat symbolizes my style. I'm really into neat hats and in the fall and winter, I wear quite a few. The heels have a triple meaning: I love shoes, I love color, and I'm a working woman. Overall, I think the image portrays a woman who is constantly on the go and cares about her appearance. I'd say that's pretty accurate.
